Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed?

Is this affecting your work or personal relationships?

Life can throw challenges our way. We can be unexpectedly thrown off course when faced with life events such as infertility, parenting, menopause, divorce and bereavement. We can also encounter difficult work situations; the modern-day workplace is more demanding than ever, leading to high levels of stress and burnout.

These pressures may affect how we show up and behave with people close to us, at work, and in our personal lives, and sometimes this is not aligned with how we would like to be.

We may have friends and family we can talk to, but sometimes we feel we’re complaining, repeating ourselves, and taking up too much of the conversation. Therapy offers something different: a place where the focus is solely on you and your problems with a trained professional.

As a BACP-registered psychodynamic psychotherapist working with adults in Cambridge, I provide an empathetic, confidential, and non-judgmental space to explore the challenges you’re facing in your personal life or at work.

Before retraining as a psychotherapist, I spent 20 years working in management and consultancy roles in higher education and publishing, which has given me an understanding of the workplace issues my clients bring to their sessions.

My psychodynamic approach forms the foundation of my therapeutic practice. Put simply, this means I work with clients to consider the unconscious, hidden reasons behind what they do.

Perhaps you have become overwhelmed or frustrated with your emotional responses to particular people in your life, whether at work or at home. Or maybe you feel stuck in habits that are no longer beneficial to you or are making your life more difficult. We can work together to understand how these patterns may have become established and how you can make positive changes in your life.

Many of the people I work with find therapy a healthy way to better understand themselves and process their emotional reactions safely. It helps them improve their emotional health, engagement with work, and overall sense of positivity in their lives.

Over time, working with a therapist can support you to change and show up differently in personal and work relationships, in ways that are more aligned with the person you want to be.
